Soforic is best known for his non-representational
and spontaneous style of painting. Fueled by a curious mind and a natural propensity to explore--he seeks to discover new
and unique environments on the canvas.
Imagine the invisible world around us--a world of light and radio waves crisscrossing through space--battling for position
in the universe. This elusive environment--this "background noise"--is what I hope to capture in my paintings.
Each
new piece I approach blindly. I start by laying multiple layers of paint on the canvas--this adds texture and depth to the
piece. Then, I use a blade-like instrument to scrape away these layers of paint. This scraping away reveals simultaneous
yet independent environments existing in the painting. It also adds to the three-dimensional effect and motion of the piece.
These
paintings are ongoing--having no clear beginning or end point. They are a mere glimpse into the infinite world of activity
around us.
